Caspion is asking for a mainlot switch to SAM. This makes for an interesting situation as he used to mainlot SAM before he switched to BRD mainlot. He is 6/6 on SAM AF2 and so the only reasons he would want to mainlot SAM is for -1 I assume.
This will basically set up the precendent for how we deal with mainlot change requests back into an old lotting tier. So the issues at hand are should it be allowed? Should it be treated different if someone ISNT 5/5 on NQ Af2 (since they would add to the congestion) if the lot is congested?
Also on a side issue, we should prob decide if we want to consider DL drops as mainlot drops. I didnt apply it as such to TT and therefor wont apply it to Caspion since he posted before we said somthing but we have had 2 ppl who spent pts on DL drops and then asked for a mainlot switch and I dont want people to look at Shadow drops as a loophole to expel points so you dont lose as many switching lots (although if they want to wait months till they get their drop it prob has same effect). Either way, somthing we should make a call on.

Eh, I'm not sure why it would be a loophole. People gain points to earn items. Thus the purchase of a shadow item is only a proper use of points gained. Spending points on a shadow item ahead of a mainlot category change is only intelligent. Members what to get what they have worked for. We only redact points to keep mainlot categories competitive anyways, so, I see mainlot and shadow items as completely unrelated to the mainlot category. A shadow item isn't exactly a freebie, either.
Our members, regardless if they will admit it or not are here to get something. I don't care who they are, if they have walked away with something (or not) and don't have everything, the same intent - to get items and/or entertainment - applies. Once we accept this we can deal with problems like Caspion's without really needing to discuss it. Caspion like many others is only in the linkshell because he has a goal. By his mainlot shifting, he is attempting to obtain gear. This desire for gear is a singular goal which helps drives RB. Think about it, his time and effort with another 30 member's time and effort due to similar goals makes a cohesive force. He's only here for items, so it makes sense to have him stay by giving him more items. Let him switch mainlots again, with the same rules applying as before, so he'll spend more time doing dynamis with us, getting items for himself and others along the way.
People will complain about anything. If they complain about his situation, tell them don't worry about his situation. They needn't be jealous. They themselves could do the EXACT same thing.
If there's no competition, so be it, he gets items easily. Good for him. If there is any competition, then he'll have to wait a bit, yes? Right.

I don't know if this helps or not, but one of my biggest goals when creating the bidding system was to eliminate all the complex rules we had in the old system and try to implement bidding in a simple way.
I guess it comes down to the K-I-S-S method, keep it simple stupid. We create the rules and keep adding to it to prevent people from taking advantage of loopholes. However, we do have the right to say no and we should be using that right more often than we are. That way we can cut down on making the system complex again with rules to cover every loophole.

If it were me, I would wait a bit before swapping mainlots after receiving a shadow item, so I guess I see the argument there for treating it as a "mainlot" piece. But at the same time, people that are able to drop that many points on a shadow item and still have max points for a mainlot swap have obviously been around for many runs and more than likely deserve what they are receiving.
