you can always just delete your post and repost with correct info Please do NOT ever do this. If you make a mistake bidding, make a new post with the correct info and an explanation of why you changed. really why, i do it all the time, but not after some one else has posted. if you make a mistake posting i dont see a problem with deleteing it and reposting.?.?

It doesn't matter if someone has replied or not, the very fact that they didn't reply may be because they saw the current bid and decided that they didn't need to. Rather than set a time limit ("You may edit your posts if the edit is done in X minutes from posting time"), it's easier to simply require people to post a new bid.
Posts are cheap, they're just as fast as editing with copy/paste, and they leave a solid trail to prove that you're not messing with bid numbers when you were supposedly fixing a typo. There's no reason to allow editing except to placate lazy people and open up the system for abuse.
If you'd like to discuss this further, make a topic in the sack forum, this really isn't the place for in-depth argument.
