Spline asked to reconsider not allowing him to switch to NIN main when he came back. For people who come back and ask straight up I have given them the option of either coming back straight off or reapplying for a new mainlot and being voted on. Not sure if Splinte asked me when he first came back to come as NIN main cause alot of the returning people did and I get them mixed up. Anyway I told him no, but heres the conversation line for SH info.
Splinte sent me this PM.
Here is my response.

So just rereading a few rules i'm seeing that a mainlot must be held for 4 months. Whether you recall or not, I was going to be switching mainlot to NIN back before I quit. Before I quit I had held the same mainlot for 9 months, and I disagree with the fact that I would have to wait another 4, seeing as how the spot was going to be mine had I stayed.
Don't take this as a personal thing, I merely just want to clarify that the rules state that each situation whether it's an extended absence or lot congestion. While it seems I am a "new" member now, I feel I have put the time in, whether it was in Splinte's 9 month run, or the runs I helped Emith on, I think I deserve the NIN mainlot change. I personally don't see all that much congestion in the lotting tier for ninja, and I would really appreciate it if you would consider this.
Thanks so much for your time,
Splinte

There are various reasons we dont allow people to switch after an extended absence. While they dont apply to you specifically, making exceptions to our general policy only opens loopholes for people to point out later or requires us to add furthur amendments to our rules complicating them.
Some of the reasons we dont allow mainlot switching after extended leaves is because people can take off after obtaining AF they can get, level another job and then come back and ask to be allowed to switch. Like I said it doesnt apply to you but its a concern nonetheless. Other reasons are that it isnt fair to people who have been waiting in line for a drop while a member was gone to have someone show up and superceede them on a drop. This is also why we recap points after extensive leave.
There have been other memebers who have askled for a mainlot switch after they left. Katson and Ragnarakblackmane to name a few. I told them both no for the same reasons I told you no and to make an exception for you would be unfair to them. So while I sympahize with your situation, it wont change the decision.
