Gonna poll membership on the following issues soon. If any SH has an opinion on any of these please post here so we dont get into drawn out disagreements in the public section. 1) Combining Open Lot and Relot. Old SH discussion found here rustybuckets.proboards38.com/index.cgi?board=SH&action=display&thread=11875795972) Reducing Penalty for Probation from complete to bidded tiers (ie previouslly a person on probation couldnt lot period with the change they could lot before it went to freelot). Dont feel like looking through the threads but this came up when someone was tenativelly gonna have to see somthing goto freelot10+ over expending points. 3) Collecting 100pcs and using gil towards runs. Old (most recent) SH discussion can be found here rustybuckets.proboards38.com/index.cgi?board=SH&action=display&thread=1187368013Will also discuss extent of collection (ie first drop of any run or all drops, build buffer upto certain amount, etc) if this is passed. At the same time with my life settling down into a routine swtarting next week I hope tro finally get around to redoing the rules after which we can revist our application policy and address people getting shut out of the LS even though we have attendence issues.

only thing i want to add, on the using 100 pieces poll.
My idea would be to collect only the first 100 piece drop from any given run. That way, theres still a chance of members getting a 100 (but only when multiples drop), so it's sort of not losing that 'thrill' of getting 100, but we are still helping the shell financially.
Thats what I'd like to see, a way to make everyone at least partially happy, although I didn't hear many posting in favor of keeping it the way it is now.

meah the more 100's we collect the better off we'll be, and cheaper runs will happen more often

I have no problems with #1 and #3, I'm iffy on #2. I don't think we should be punishing people who go on probation less strongly than people who show up, but go negative. Either we stick to our "Sublots never get priority over main lots" or we don't, but let's be consistent in how we apply it.
Doesn't make much sense to me that it's a travesty if someone can't lot a piece of AF because they've been gone for 3 months with no notice, but if they show up every day and get lucky drops and end up with -2 points, they risk watching their main lot AF fall to lower tiers. I know not all the cases are that drastic, but I do think we need to remain consistent with our penalties.
Edited, I have no idea how I got "more strongly" in there instead of "less strongly".

i'm all for equal opportunity oppression if you want to spend all your points on drops and you happen to go negative, and a drop you want happens to drop then you spent your points unwisely... that is the name of the game. you have already been rewarded by the drops you have recieved.... and since the only way you can go negative is on your first few runs if you get a drop or no other samelot person wants the drop i really dont see the point

So go ahead with continuing the way we have (officially) been, ie, probation is complete block from lotting then?

Sorry for disappearing been busy as hell the last few weeks. Anyway if someone's on probation while it sucks to have stuff go to free lot I think our EXTREMELY lenient rules of just allowing people to come back with probation is good enough for said members. Honestly if someone is gone for a month and can't wait 4 runs to get something again, I feel that member is just going to get an item and disappear again so I don't see the difference between an item going to free lot or someone taking off with it. So I'm in HUGE favor of keeping probation status the way it is.

I just want to add that whatever changes might be made, should make it into the rules, and should be considered for overall complexity before doing it.
It might be most "fair" to collect the 100 pieces, but does anyone really, really want to do the book-keeping and maintain the transparency members will expect? Also, another change to the mainlot switch penalty system is probably unnecessary. It's pretty close to overdone complexity wise now. Apart from dropping the dpk system any new change won't make the system any more or less effective. If someone wants to mainlot the gear, I don't care where else it might end up, they should have the same consequences as someone who has been waiting for months. The most significant goal that everyone in FFXI shares is to collect gear - its one of the primary motivations to do dynamis. We would do well to keep things simple where the "problem" is something which we have no control over, but IS in someone else's hands.
Eh, disjointed post, and I apologize, I'm in a hurry.

Collecting/selling and being accountable for 100 pcs IS extra work, there is no doubt about that. However at the same time it is irresponsible to ignore one of the most common source of complaints from the membership.
I am also fairlly sure this wont be the end of the complaints. From complains about the cost we sell them for (since the market for them isnt static), to WHO they are sold to, who is keeping the gil, blah blah I am sure people will keep complaining cause lets face it, it what certain people do best. However as SH we need to look towards the needs of the shell and by extension the needs and wants of the membership base at large to keep them reasonablly happy.

Any change from our current policy of basically not doing anything will require more work, but we have to weigh that versus the benefits it brings to the LS. In this case, I think that it's entirely reasonable to manage a handful of items to sell via bazaar and keep accurate records of it. If nobody else is willing, I'll handle it, as I have another account that can bazaar full-time.

I say we make Sumi log in one night a week and bazaar them in Rolanberry Mall.
